Mothers and Daughters Facing the Elements
First in Earth Series — For my Mother of Earth
Long ago, it was written as a cautionary tale
to Mothers of Earth and Daughters of Air
to heed the elements of their celestial signs
for Mothers of Earth to raise their Daughters of Air
was to strike a balance between reason and creativity.
For Mothers of Earth are bound in logic, practicality, and reason,
while Daughters of Air are unbound, innovative, and open to answers
outside of the binary.
Mothers of Earth needed to learn how to ground their Daughters of Air
in the basics of praxis, rules, and guidelines
so that Daughters of Air when weary would have a place to rest and
a sense of stability to return.
Daughters of Air had the task of showing their Mothers of Earth
how to let go, float, and flow with the things and people who come and go.
Together, Mothers of Earth and Daughters of Air show the world how to
have wanderlust and still know the way home.
