My Eyes Eat You Up

a prose poem

A Black couple holds hands while looking into each others eyes. One of them wears a brown sleeveless above the knee dress while the other wears glasses, a beige top with black belt and black pants. They are pictured in front of a mostly brown dry looking landscape.

My eyes eat you up,

noshing and nibbling

to the point of engorging…

Do you feel the nips of my eyes penetrating the sinewy sweet meats of your musculature?

Do you sense my eyes watering over you candy sweet dimpled smile?

…when I realize I have stared

too long showing everyone

what I have been hungering for

and feasted on.

Your beauty and physical form energize me.
