Of Dew and Earth

She smelled of dew and earth

the must of pond scum and saccharine stalk

her hair like reeds and tangled weeds

a pile of wild growth

her eyes like muddy water reflecting

the sun and green plant life below

her skin glistens and beads with salt and sweet

a scintillating topographic treat

her mind like soil

rocky, murky, muddy, fertile and teeming with life

her heart like an aged turtle

young and hard on the outside, wise and soft on the inside;

She is the dew and earth.

A turtle with its head craned to the left (its right side) perched on a rock with water in the background.
