Rise Up and Reclaim

Can I walk out my door without

catcalling, harassment, and treated like a whore? And

though there are sisters that are

pimped by Madams and misters

why should that affect our

compassion and ways to connect?

Women, let’s rise and

join in the cries for

liberation and freedom from

discrimination, threat, and negative outcome. It’s

time for us whether Black, Brown, White, cis, queer, nonbinary,

to gather together all of our intersectionalities and be contrary. To oppose the

misogyny, degradation, and condescension with

knowledge, action, and ascension. This time

we rise and say, “no more,” take back our power,

and reclaim the word, “whore.”

A group of people stand in a street with posterboards. The signs say, “Freedom is a right,” “Justice 4 All,” “Equal Rights,” and “I Want To Be Heard.”
